A Lin Restaurant in Xian is designed, by Shenzhen Shenkong, to be an ice cave. With the shinny reflecting ceiling, glass wall, crystal light and white color scheme, I feel cold without turning on the air con.

I went to China, especially Xian, once or twice a year to take photograph for Shenzhen Shenkong. This is one of their project, Chang An Metropolitan Mall, right next to the ancient city wall.

I have been to Xian once or twice a year for the last 6 years. Xian is changing rapidly from a normal, somewhat dusty, town to a modern city with new buildings all around. This is one of those, Chang-An Metropolitan, a luxury shopping mall and living complex near the ancient city’s west gate. This project was designed and built by Shenzhen Shenkong, a design and construction company based in Shenzhen.

This is the Tang Chao Club, the VIP club in Xi-an, where I shot the interior design for my client. The interior lighting is not a flush light as usual. It’s a dot and lining light. The wall around is all glass and reflective material. Using flash or additional light would ruin all the atmosphere. So I just click and wait, 30 minutes per shots at f32.
